mv-w.net uses a modified template from Themewagon with mostly my own artwork but for this page but I soon found it wasn't what I wanted.
The only way to get it right was to build the page from bottom up.
In fact this BallyOak Designs section has been built entirely using just notepad with all original coding.
All Layouts and effects have been achieved using HTML,CSS and JavaScript written from scratch. The artwork is my own photography. The beauty of this is that it produces a truly unique result.
The Aussie Surfcams page was also made the same way except for the artwork and top menu. It also uses a custom Visual Basic VB.NET application that runs on the server and interacts the web page and VLC Player to extract temporary video clips. That page also uses a lot of PHP coding to handle files, interactions and multiple user sessions.
I host my own website on a Fujitsu rack mounted M3 server using Windows 11 and Apache. A bit of advice to anyone thinking of doing this sort of thing is to use a commercial style server PC. They are easy to pick up second hand and are much more rugged and reliable. They also usually include built in raid.
As I mention in the Welcome banner I do get easily distracted so everything tends to be a work in progress so some sections will be unfinished.
