These pages have beeen created as a hobby to share some of my interests in a slightly unusual way.
I have been interested in computers and programming since before the internet existed.
In fact my first foreay into programming was in the early 80's when I wrote games on a Dick Smith VZ200 computer with the massive 16k byte expansion.
As a technical assistant to electrical engineers I got to dabble in mainframe programming and all sorts of PC systems starting with MS Dos then the first Apple Macintosh and all the early versions of Microsoft Windows.
I was even able to dabble in assembly language and machine code during development of custom microprocessor equipment for data logging.
Just a few of the earlier lanuages I worked in are Basic, Pascal, C+ and Visual Basic.
As the internet appeared I created web pages with editors like Frontpage and Coffee cup.
Since then it has been hard to keep up with the developments but I have learnt to use PHP, Javascript, CSS and HTML to create pages organically.
By organically I mean that my challenge now is to mostly create pages without templates or fancy editors using just Notepad while writing my own CSS, PHP and Javascript to do whatever I dream up. This doesn't mean that I don't borrow snippets of code here and there.
My website is self hosted on dedicated PC in my garage running an Apache server.
In time I hope to add more detailed information.
